How can I render X Particles Emitters with Octane?
I've Been Following This Tutorial
Https://Vimeo.Com/86695307And I Can't Figure Out How To Render Particles Using Octane. I Know How To Render Trails/Hair Fine, But Can't Find Anything About Particles.
I Tried Adding An Octane Object Tag To My Emitters And Enabling "Sphere" But It Doesn't Seem To Work. I Have An Octane Material On The Emitters As Well.
Using R16 And Octane 3.01.1-R1
Under spheres add a sphere object. Maybe that will work.
Edit: under where you chose sphere
I'm also puzzled, and can't work this out.
Hair and trails work just as expected, but the particles just won't show up.
Put a C4DOctane Tag on your Emitter. In this Object Tag, you set "Particle Rendering" to "Sphere". Now you have to create a Sphere (any other geometry is working too) and drag it in the field in the Object tag. Thats all.
This still doesn't work for me.
level 3
additionally:
at frame 0, i can see the sphere object on its own, colored blue by me.
however, whenever i hit play or move frames, that's replaced by one single (and bigger) grey sphere.
Thanks for your reply. This is one of the things I tried earlier but it doesn't seem to work. It just shows a single sphere that doesn't move.
Any idea what's going on? Do I need a generator or something?
Can you upload your scene? I will check it.
Well, that is a nice coincidence, been following you too
I checked your scene, for me it's working without problems without changing anything. This is how it looks on my machine:
http://imgur.com/JQmUPG1A thing I noticed, you are using an older version of X-Particles, maybe thats the reason. I'm using the latest, v 3.5.0345.
Ah that's probably it, I'm on v2.1 I think. Damn, that's annoying
Thanks for your help anyway man, I appreciate it.
No problem.. You could also try to use a generator object. Put an emitter in this generator object and a sphere or another geometry as a child of the generator.
Awesome, that worked great! Thanks a lot man.
In the Generator I have changed the Clone Type to Create Render Instances and also changed the spheres to 7 segments to reduce the poly count. Doing this helped a lot with the speed. Do you know if there's anything else I can do to help improve the scene/render speed?
Nice! No, i think that's all you can do. Besides buying v3, because genererating the spheres over the Object Tag inside of the gpu is extremely fast
No worries. Cheers again dude!
