She first entered the public eye in 2003 when she was a Top Three finalist on the reality TV show The Entertainer, hosted by Wayne Newton. She wasn't the winner, but having just moved to Nashville, she set her sights on a career in country music. She released her debut album, Every Monday Morning, in the spring of 2009, following it in 2011 with a second album, Angels & Devils, in which she wrote or co-wrote nine of the 11 songs. A digital EP, Home to Me, showed up early in 2013. Darling spent the next few years working on new music, finally emerging in early 2017 with Dream Country, an album preceded by a surprising and sweet cover of the Smiths' "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want." ~ Steve Leggett.
