После драматичного матча в финале Кубка Мира Горо Сигэно получил широкую известность и попал в МЛБ – главную бейсбольную лигу Америки. Дело всей его жизни, соперничество с Джо Гибсоном-старшим, завершилось, и теперь парень идет вперед по инерции, не понимая, к чему стремиться.
Для каждого действия нужна причина, после достижения одних целей надо ставить другие. Вот с этим у парня, оказавшегося вдали от семьи и друзей, пока тяжело. Юному таланту еще предстоит осознать, что силы для самоутверждения в лучшей мировой лиге и соперничества с таким же молодым гением бейсбола Гибсоном-младшим нужно искать не в поверхностной браваде и гордыне, а в глубинах собственной души. Конечно, понимание придет с опытом – не зря на Востоке говорят: «Чем старше – тем лучше». Главное, у Горо есть необходимые качества, чтобы стать великим игроком, нужно только время.
