The 3D effects in this template are appropriate for basic extrusions. The extrusions are made using several techniques, each with their own advantages and limitations. Not all 3D titles can be viewed from behind. Not all extrusions can have texture or reflections. For more flexible 3D text, Cinema 4D is recommended.
This template uses a small selection of web-safe, cross-platform fonts (Arial, Arial Black, Courier New, Verdana, Comic Sans, Impact, Georgia, and Times New Roman). You can change the fonts to any font in your library. If you have a Creative Cloud subscription, you already have access to many free fonts that you are licensed to to use in your projects, through Adobe Typekit.
Using the title effects in your own After Effects templates which you are selling is prohibited by the Creation Effects TOS as well as by the stock agencies that sell templates.

Creation VHS Effects has been updated and upgraded! The current version is compatible with Adobe After Effects, versions CS5 and above (including CC). The original version of the template works with CS3 and CS4, and is included with your download. The original version has fewer effects and presets, and no "Global Intensity" control, but it still produces great results! (Watch the original's demo video).

Effects are customized with slider controls, so it's easy to adjust the intensity of the damage. A single "Global Intensity" control affects the strength of all effects together.
Noteworthy effects that are not seen in the demo videos include a fast-forward effect (with "chipmunk" audio), an interlaced video effect, and an old TV effect (your footage placed in a 70s TV - see image below).

This template has been universalized, so it will work for users running After Effects in other languages, as long as they're using CS6 and up. The template may partially work in foreign languages in CS5, but with some errors.
Two versions of the template are included: HD (1920x1080) and 4K (4096x2160). The effects work great on photos, text, and graphics with transparent backgrounds, but it is not designed for exporting images at a higher resolution than 4096x2160.
This template includes 56 art effect comps (not 56 different mediums). View the above section to see what mediums and styles are included. Also included are custom animated borders and mattes, several "Copy and Paste Effects" (Adjustment Layers), and over 200 photo textures.
The video tutorial was created before the 2018 update, so some elements may look or work a little differently. Be sure to read the written instructions in the template - they are thorough and up-to-date.
The most common question from customers is "how do I slow down the textures?". There is now an optional "Timewarp" effect on all dynamic textures to give you a smoother, less jittery animation.
The art effect comps in this template are 10 frames per second, giving them the choppy stop-motion look seen in the demo video. The reduced frame rate also speeds up render times considerably. You can change the frame rate in the "Composition Settings" panel, or if you like the look of a reduced frame rate, but need to export at a higher rate like 29.97fps or 25fps, create a new comp with the higher frame rate, and place the art effect comp into that one.
Follow the suggestions on the Render Tips Page to improve the speed of this template. Because of the complexity of the effects, many of them can take a significant amount of time to render (especially the 4K versions) and are not intended for long videos.
