Very interesting material from Sonny Rollins. The songs are among Rollins's most avant-garde improvisations, and he seems inspired by trumpeter Don Cherry's presence (although Cherry clearly could not keep up with the great tenor). Rollins really digs into "Oleo" and the 15-minute "Doxy" and plays some remarkable music. (Scott Yanow)
