win 10 ругается на новый PhysX - надо старый ставить:(
Вот нагуглил на страничке в Стиме:
No probs here after finally having managed to install the game on Windows 10 (Pro x64) from a 10th anniversary EA Classics DVD. If it's of any use for somebody in this Forum - see below:
1. UNinstall the PhysX driver that comes with the latest nVidia driver packages (check the "Apps & Features" section of Win10). PLEASE NOTE: This latest nVidia PhysX driver will probably be AUTOMATICALLY installed when upgrading to Windows 10 - so when using an nVidia graphics adapter, you might not even have noticed that the latest PhysX driver is already installed on your system
2. Reboot your PC.
3. Perform a compatability fix for autorun.exe, EAsetup.exe and setup.exe on the Airborne DVD. Let Windows 10 check and suggest the respective compatibility options and save them.
4. Install Airborne using autorun.exe (or EAsetup.exe or setup.exe) with administrator priviliges. This will probably also (or at least try to) install the "Ageia PhysX" driver stored on the Airborne DVD.
5. Launch Airborne. Maybe Airborne complains about not finding the Ageia PhysX driver. If so, close Airborne.
6. Check the "Apps & Features" section of Win10. If you find the Ageia PhysX driver there, UNinstall it.
7. Reboot your PC.
8. Download the PhysX legacy driver (which is for older games like Airborne) from nVidia: Do so by e.g. a google search for PhysX-9.13.0604-SystemSoftware-Legacy
9. Install this nVidia PhysX legacy driver. IMPORTANT: Install this nVidia legacy driver even if using an AMD Radeon graphics card!
10. Reboot your PC.
11. Launch Airborne now and enjoy the game (or update it first
.
12. Do not forget to install the latest PhysX driver from nVidia AGAIN, if using an nVidia card (remember: you've UNinstalled the latest PhysX driver in the beginning of this procedure!). Do so by e.g. selecting "custom install" (or similar) during the nVidia driver installation and make sure to mark the check box "nVIdia PhysX" there (the rest of the options should show up as "already installed" or similar).
The old PhysX legacy driver (enabling Airborne to run) and the latest PhysX driver (for current graphic cards and operating systems) may reside on your PC in peace
This workaround did a good job in Windows 7 (Pro x64), too. I assume it should also teach Windows 8 or Win8.1 to start Airborne.
Hope this helps,
